Isa na namang mahalagang papel ang gagampanan ng barangay
at yan ay ang pagpapatupad ng Ordinance Adopting Republic
Act No. 9482 o Anti Rabies Act of 2007.

Kaugnay nito, nagsagawa ng pagpupulong ang
Batangas City Rabies Control Council (BCRCC) sa pangunguna
ng vice chairman nito na si Dr. Macario Hornilla sa Office of the
City Veterinary ang Agricultural Services(OCVAS), March 29,
kung saan tinalakay ang Implemening Rules and Regulations ng
naturang ordinansa na naglalayong mapalakas ang kampanyang
maging rabies-free ang lungsod.

Nakapaloob sa batas ang pagbubuo ng mga Barangay
Rabies Control Committee (BRCC) na pinamumunuan ng
barangay captain bilang chairman at ng school principal
o barangay chairperson ng Committee on Agriculture and
Veterinary o Committee on Health bilang vice chairman, ang
iba pang miyembro ay ang barangay secretary, barangay rabies
coordinator,barangay counciors- Committee chairman on
Agriculture and Health, chief of barangay police at dog catcher/
dog pound in-charge.

Ang BRCC ang magpapatupad at magmo monitor
ng lahat ng rabies prevention and control activities sa barangay
kagaya ng registration ng aso, pagbabakuna kontra rabies, at
education/information drive. Sila rin ang magpapatupad ng
pagtatali ng aso o pananatili ng aso sa loob ng bakuran ng bahay
upang huwag itong makagala.

Kailangang magkaroon ng dog pound ang barangay
upang pagdalhan ng mga asong ligaw sa halip na dalhin pa ito sa
city pound sa OCVAS.

Binibigyan ng tatlong araw ang may-ari ng aso na
tubusin ang kanilang alaga sa barangay dog pound. Kung hindi
ito makukuha sa loob ng tatlong araw, ang mga aso ay ililipat na
sa city pound sa OCVAS.
Compulsory ang registration ng lahat ng aso sa
barangay. Ang BRCC ang kokolekta ng registration fee na
P20.00. Ang rehistradong aso ay bibigyan ng Dog Registration
Tag na ilalagay sa dog collar at dapat gamitin ng aso habang nasa
mga pampublikong lugar upang madaling ma identify na ito ay
rehistrado ng BCRR.

Responsibilidad ng dog owner na ipagamot ang
sinumang makakagat ng kanyang aso at siya ring gagastos
sa pagpapagamot nito. Dapat siguraduhin niya na nakatali o
nakakulong ang aso sa isang pen upang huwag itong makagala at
makakagat ng tao..

Mahalagang mabakunahan agad laban sa rabies ang
isang taong nakagat o nakalmot ng aso o pusal Kailangan ding
ma obserbahan ang biktima at ang aso sa loob ng 14 na araw
upang makita kung may mga kakaibang pagbabago sa mga ito.

Ang pagkuha ng serbisyo ng isang albularyo o
“manunupsop” sa paggagamot ng mga nakagat ng aso o pusa
ay hindi ini encourage ng local government unit, bagkos ay
itinuturing itong ilegal o medical malpractice.

Ang hindi tatalima sa pagpaparehistro at pagbabakuna
ng kanilang aso ay may written warning sa first offense ,
multang P1,500 o community service na dalawang buwan o
pagkabilanggo ng isang buwan o pareho depende sa discretion
ng korte sa second offense. Sa third offense, ang multa ay P2,000
o community service na tatlong buwan at pagkabilanggo ng
dalawang buwan o pareho depende sa discretion ng korte.

Ang impounded dog sa city pound ay pwede lamang
i release pagkabayad ng P150 sa City Treasurer’s Office
pagkatapos ng isang araw o 24 oras ng impound; P300 pagkatapos
ng dalawang araw o 48 oras ng impound at P500 pagkatapos ng
tatlong araw o 72 hours ng impound.
High-risk persons sumailalim
sa TB mass screening ng CHO EBD Scholarship Program
NAGSAGAWA ng Tuberculosis mass screening ang City
Health Office (CHO) sa may 200 katao na nabibilang
sa high-risk groups. March 27, sa Teachers Conference
Center kung saan sila ay sumailalim sa libreng chest x- ray
upang patuloy na ma identify ang mga may sakit nito at
mabigyan ng libreng treatment na tumatagal ng halos anim
na buwan.

Ito ay bahagi ng National Tuberculosis Program
kung saan nakikipagtulungan ang Deparment of Health
Region IV-A sa CHO upang magamot ang mga pasyente at
maiwasan ang TB na karaniwan ay itinatago o ikinahihiya
dahilan sa stigma na dulot nito..

Kabilang dito ang mga matatanda, mga diabetic,
hypertensive, mga tricycle drivers na nagsisigarilyo,
exposed sa usok at iba pang air pollution, at kasama sa
bahay ng mga TB patients.

Ayon sa 2017 report ng CHO, ang mga barangay
na may mataas na kaso ng TB ay ang Libjo, Calicanto,
Balete Relocation, Kumintang Ibaba, Balete Proper,
Wawa, Gulod Labac,

Masigasig ang CHO na ipagpatuloy ang High
Case Notification Rate at Treatment Success Rate sa TB.

About 1,327 college scholars of the EBD Scholarship
Program receive their checks amounting to P3,000
as their allowance from Mayor Beverley Dimacuha,
Congressman Marvey Mariño, VM Jun Berberabe
and some city councilors during the distribution held,
March 28 at the Batangas City Sports Coliseum.
Each scholar is entitled to P8,000 scholarship grant
wherein the P5,000 is directly deducted from their
school tuition fees. There are more than 12,000
