Sa Industrial category, overall champion ang JG Summit Fire Brigade at first din sa Combination of Busted Hose and Up the Ladder at Fire Extinguishment. Philhealth continues strengthening partnerships in its 23rd year Joy Gabrido CALAMBA CITY, Laguna, (PIA) -- In view of its 23rd Anniversary, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation Region 4A (PhilHealth 4A), in partnership with the Philippine Information Agency Region 4A (PIA 4A), held a press conference through Kapihan sa PIA at Circulo de Paseo Uno Function Room, Paseo Uno de Calamba Building, Checkpoint last March 9. Iyong mga partners natin sa Media and we have another partner in the person of these young ambassadors when we integrated the National Health Insurance Program in the Academe,” uttered Field Operations Division (FOD) Chief Arturo C. Ardiente in his opening remarks. Ardiente expressed how they value their partners – the media and the academe – in the dissemination of information and the implementation of National Health Insurance Program for Philhealth’s 23 years of service to the Filipino people. Students and teachers from different schools in CALABARZON were likewise present in the event for the Awarding of Regional Poster-Making Contest Winners that was held prior to the press conference. Through this contest, Philhealth was able to engage the academe where the participating students crafted their posters based on how they perceive the corporation. He underscored their aim to bring deeper awareness to young people in valuing financial risk protection and giving huge importance to health care, which can be passed down to the future generations. “The same way as our friends in media… with my hands up ay nagpapasalamat po kami sa inyong lahat. Hindi po namin kaya ito covering a big region like Region 4A,” he stated, pointing out that providing a universal coverage wouldn’t be possible for them without the Media as their partners especially in the Calabarzon Region that comprises a total of 9.3 million population. During the presscon, a number of issues and queries were answered by ROD Chief Ardiente and Medical Specialist Claire Chua. One of which includes that Philhealth Members and Dengvaxia-vaccinated patients even are required to go to Philhealth-accredited hospitals to credit under Philhealth the payment of hospitalization expenses of dengvaxia-immunized children. OFWs “We don’t only encourage, but we actually direct all OFWs na magpatuloy ng kanilang coverage under Philhealth, magbayad ng kontribusyon not only for themselves but for their families dito sa Pilipinas,” Chief Ardiente answered to an inquiry concerning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW). It was in accordance to the rules and regulations under Republic Act 10606, also known as “National Health Insurance Act of 1995,” providing that OFWs should be mandatory members of National Health Insurance Program. “Kung siya man ay may coverage under other categories noong una at natigil ay pwedeng pwede po siya magpatuloy,” he clarified. Before OFWs leave, they only need to show Philhealth the documents that shall serve as proof of being overseas workers. Philhealth will then register them or, if already a registered member, will change their category. The OFWs will also be required to pay outright Sundan sa pahina 6..
