DSWD holds advocacy campaign for
homeless families thru painting session

MANILA-- The Department of
Social Welfare and Development
(DSWD), in partnership with the
Department of Health (DOH),
Manila Police District (MPD),
Manila Health Department, and
the City Government of Manila,
gathered street children from
this city to teach them some art
skills through painting
The activity, which
is part of the information cum
service caravan for street
children and homeless families
was held at the Rajah Sulayman
in Malate, Manila.
DSWD Usec. Glenda
Relova said the activity dubbed
as “Art for the Homeless cum
Information
and
Serbisyo
Caravan” was actually a mini-
training session that teaches
street children skills on creative
arts and design through painting.
She said it was
also a part of the Agency’s
“HELPTheHomelessPH”
advocacy campaign that aims
to educate the public about the
plight of homeless families, and
to encourage people to provide
appropriate means of assistance
to families at-risk on the streets
and street children.

may 134 breastfeeding mothers
sa mass breastfeeding at milk
donation na isinagawa sa Jesus
of Nazareth Hospital (JNH)
kamakailan.
Ang 1stRegional Human
Milk Donation Campaign na may
temang “Gatas mo Inay, handog
ay buhay” ay magkakatuwang
na itinaguyod ng Batangas
Medical Center (BatMC) at
City Health Office (CHO) sa
pakikipagtulungan ng Department
of Health (DOH), Rotary Club of
Downtown Batangas, Soroptimist
International at Jesus of Nazareth
Hospital.
Ayon kay Ma. Joycelyn
Mercado, chairman ng BatMC
Human Milk Bank Committee,
layunin ng proyektong ito na
mapalakas ang kampanya ukol
sa breastfeeding at alamin kung
gaano kadami ang mga inang
nagpapasuso.
Aniya, nagsagawa sila
ng screening ng mga donors
upang masiguro na ligtas ang
gatas sa mga sakit tulad ng HIV at
iba pa at ito ay ilalagak sa Human
Milk Bank ng BatMC.

kaugnay nito kung saan sinabi ni

Code of 1986. Nakasaad dito ang
pagpapalakas at pagpapakalat
ng
impormasyon
tungkol
sa breastfeeding at tamang
nutrisyon habang nire-regulate
and
advertising,
marketing
at promotion ng breastmilk
substitutes at iba pang produkto
tulad ng feeding bottles at teats.
Ipinagbabawal nito ang donations,
samples, distribution ng iba pang
promotional giveaways ng mga
milk companies sa mga health
workers at iba pang bahagi ng
healthcare systems kabilang
ang breastmilk susbsitutes, milk
products, foods, beverages at
bottle-fed substitutes.
Sa mensahe ni mayor

kinatawan ni Dr. Liza Gonzales,
sinabi nito na ang pagiging ina ay
ang walang hanggang pagsisilbi
at pagbabahagi ng sarili, lakas,
panahon at buhay lalo na ang

120 DAYS’ FOOD FOR GROWTH
PROGRAM OF PSWDO AND PCDC
THE Provincial Government
of Cavite (PGC) through the
Provincial Social Welfare and
Development Office (PSWDO) in
cooperation with the Provincial
Cooperative
Development
Council (PCDC) led by Fr.
Arturo Joseph Monzon Balagat
facilitated
the
culminating
activity in view of the success
implementation of 120 days’
Food for Growth Program to
271 severely underweight and
underweight preschool children
in selected barangays in the
municipalities of Amadeo and
Tanza on December 13, 2018
held at Brgy. Biga Covered Court
Tanza.
The event aims to formally
recognize and acknowledge all the
collaborators and beneficiaries of
the program for the rehabilitation
of almost 100% of the recipients.
OIC-Provincial
Cooperative, Livelihood and
Entrepreneurial
Development
Office (PCLEDO) Atty. Khervy
Reyes acknowledged all the
attendees and introduced a
livelihood program that will
benefit the parents and guardians
to increase their income to sustain
a nutritious diet for their children.
Meanwhile, Provincial
Administrator for Community
Affairs Mr. Alvin Mojica awarded
the certificate of appreciation to the
programs’ proponents including
the PCDC, Anabu Development
Cooperative, Municipal Nutrition
Action
Office-Tanza,
Biga
Brgy. Chairman Raymundo
Joya and Ms. Marilou Joya for
being partners in addressing the
basic health needs of the youth.
Meanwhile, children partakers
also received a certificate of
appreciation and school supplies
kit that will help in their
education.
PGC’S PASSION IN SERVING THE PUBLIC
IN line with its environmental
campaign,
the
Provincial
Government of Cavite led by
Governor Boying C. Remulla
continuously conduct, “Kalinga
sa Kalikasan Program” to
promote a secured and well-kept
community through a proper
environment preservation and
nature management on December
14, 2018 at Poblacion Covered
Court in the municipality of
Noveleta. The clean-up activity
was also attended by Noveleta
Mayor Dino Chua together with
municipal councilors, former
Provincial Administrator for
Internal Affairs Enrico Alvarez
and Cavite City Councilor
Rommel Enriquez to show
their support in eliminating the
pollution around the province.
Likewise, on the same
day, another leg of Ugnayan sa
Barangay held at San Mateo
Covered Court in the City of
Dasmariñas
was
conducted
to ensure that the primary
necessities of the locals are
properly sustained. The local
management made it possible for
the indigent residents to easily
utter their concerns and needs
as they were given the chance
to communicate with Governor
Jonvic Remulla. He echoed the
full commitment of the Remulla
Administration in extending
assistance and initiating programs
that are beneficial for Caviteños.
