more personal than football field at Washington High School. The field is named after Tom Pagel, a long-time coach at Washington High School in Phoenix.
Pagel was Hanson’s football line coach in high school, and the author played sports with Pagel’s sons, including Mike Pagel, who went on to star as a quarterback at Arizona State and played in the National Football League for 12 seasons.

Dobson High School in Mesa was named after the Dobson family, which owned a ranch where the school is located.
