“Lifestyle centers often are outdoor walking spaces,” she said. “They’re very walkable, very eclectic and very urban-like.”

Local workers such as Adrian Basulto, the general manager at Smash Burger’s Alma School location, are awaiting what Basulto said will be a spike in business as more residents move to the area.

“It’ll be really good for our business because we’ll be busier,” Basulto said. “The customers will be more local too. It’s nice to recognize people.”
