A promising cyclist who was on her way to the 2012 Olympics in London, a tragic accident effectively ended her dream of competing for her country. A swerve by another cyclist, a tumble, and a collision with an oncoming Land Rover left Charlotte with 12 broken vertebrae, a punctured lung, fractured ribs, a broken collarbone and minutes from the unthinkable. Rather than fight for gold in front of her home crowd, she was simply left fighting for her life.
