serving ( or who were already committed !) in neighboring counties and in other capacities in the city , counties , and beyond . To say I am proud of this response is an understatement ; I am in awe .
The commitment of this legal community to support voter registration , assist on election day , offer expertise in the many ongoing court cases , and promote the importance of elections and democracy in our community has rekindled my faith in the great American experiment . I am profoundly grateful to each person who has volunteered to serve as a Provisional Clerk or poll watcher , the leaders who wrote thoughtful articles for this publication , those who encouraged and reminded their friends and family to register to vote , and those who continue to advocate for and participate in the crucial work of ensuring this election ' s success .

With respect , gratitude , and hope ,
Emily C . Ward , President of the Atlanta Bar Association
