Of all the year ' s activities that our Section ’ s Board Members have the privilege of conducting on behalf of our membership and the Atlanta Bar Association , this culminating duty in review of the collective nominations and selection of the year ’ s Award recipient leaves me inspired and empowered . This year was exceptionally fulfilling .

t is our absolute privilege to announce the Hon . Shondeana C . Morris will be honored during the 23rd Annual Women of Achievement Award Luncheon as the 2024 Recipient of the Atlanta Bar Association ' s Outstanding Woman in the Profession Achievement Award .
The Women in the Profession Section looks forward with much anticipation each year as this signature event brings opportunity for the Atlanta Bar Association ’ s membership to reflect and honor those attorneys who have brought significant achievement and service to our community and profession . Through nominations , each Atlanta Bar Association member was able to reflect kindly on those who have inspired others . furtherance of the mission of our Section , the Atlanta
The longstanding Atlanta Bar Association Award represents demonstration of : significant contributions in furthering the interests of women in the profession ; involvement in activities which assist women in the metropolitan Atlanta community ; involvement in professional organizations which assist in promoting and empowering women in the profession ; and significant professional achievements .
As our Board had come to learn in even greater detail , Judge Morris exhibits these ideals through continued service to the public , our communities , and our profession . Namely , I find it one of the highest compliments we can pay one another when we see in any recommendation “ excellent lawyer and an amazing human being ” as Judge Morris was described along with detail of outstanding efforts as a public servant , mentor , volunteer , lifesaver , sorority sister , trustee , and so much more above and beyond her very notable appointments and professional achievements .
Furthermore , our Board was moved to share our own reflection of how Judge Morris has inspired us to normalize a safer space to acknowledge our own
