Introduction to the Good Judge-Ment Podcast

J udges Wade Padgett( currently on the Georgia Court of Appeals after serving 15 years as a Superior Court judge) and Tain Kell( retired from the bench after serving 16 years as a Superior Court judge) started The Good Judge-Ment Podcast in 2019 as a natural extension of their years of training Superior Court judges under the Georgia Institute of Continuing Judicial Education( ICJE). They have hosted approximately 200 episodes covering civil and criminal issues within the jurisdiction of Georgia Superior Courts. Recent and recurring topics include recusal motions, property division in domestic relations cases, bench trials in criminal cases, default judgments, legal privileges, attorney fees under OCGA 9-11-68, guardianship, judicial writing, and Georgia’ s statewide case management system. Earlier episodes cover voir dire, Brady motions, hearsay, grand juries, no-knock search warrants, judicial canons, probation revocation hearings, appellate practice, RICO, high-publicity trials, nuclear verdicts, and closing arguments.
