Hon. Nikia Smith Sellers
Nikia Smith Sellers is a veteran prosecutor with more than a decade of service in the Fulton County District Attorney ' s Office. As Deputy District Attorney, she supervised prosecutions in Drug Court, Behavioral Health Treatment Court, and Veterans Court. Raised by educators and the granddaughter of sharecroppers from Southwest Georgia, Judge Sellers comes from a family deeply rooted in public service. She attended Atlanta Public Schools, then undergraduate at Shaw University on an athletic and academic scholarship. She earned her Juris Doctor from The Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson School of Law, receiving a merit scholarship and Public Interest Advocate Certification. She is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association and the Georgia Association for Black Women Attorneys. Judge Sellers is married, married to an educator and ordained Presbyterian elder and mother of four. Additionally, she serves in leadership roles in multiple organizations that empower people through dance, cultural arts education, mentorship, and community service.
Cobb County
Hon. Tyler J. Browning
Governor Brian Kemp appointed Tyler J. Browning to the Cobb County Superior Court in May 2026. Judge Browning began his career as a staff attorney to Cobb County Superior Court Judge Robert E. Flournoy, III, then prosecuted criminal cases as an Assistant Solicitor General in the Cobb County Solicitor General’ s Office. He entered private practice where he concentrated on family law. He lectures on family law for the Family Law Institute, the Cobb County Bar Association, and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, among other organizations. He holds a bachelor’ s degree in English from the University of Georgia and a Juris Doctor from the Georgia State University College of Law.
Judge Browning is an active civic leader in Marietta, serving on the Board of Trustees of the Marietta / Cobb Museum of Art and as an officer of the Downtown Marietta Development Authority. He is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Marietta. He and his wife, Ashley, also an attorney, are raising their two children in Cobb County. www. atlantabar. org THE ATLANTA LAWYER 9
