O n January 22, 2026, the Atlanta Bar Foundation proved— decisively— that Atlanta lawyers are more than just briefly talented. Hosted at the ever-vibey City Winery Atlanta, The Atlanta Bar Revue: We’ re Briefly Talented! delivered a night of music, comedy, creativity, and camaraderie that had the crowd laughing, clapping, and occasionally holding its collective breath.
Under the sharp yet kind eyes of the judges – a mix of some of Atlanta’ s most prominent jurists and entertainers-, the evening kicked off with a soulful piano performance of " Falling In and Out of Love With You ", delivered with quiet confidence and Apollo-winning credentials. From there, the moderator navigated the audience through heartfelt tunes and hilarious comedy— law-school-inspired sing-alongs, guitar performances that warmed up and then caught fire, stand-up comedy, a magic show, and a stunning, souldeep rendition of " Georgia on My Mind " that brought the room together in pure Atlanta fashion( and won a solid third place).
Creativity ruled the night. Birds of the Bar, a whimsical pairing of vocals, piano, and flute, charmed the audience with clever lyrics and undeniable joy(“ there were zero seconds that I was not smiling,” one judge commented). A graceful piano performance reminded us that simplicity still lands in our hearts. And a first-time stand-up comedian earned huge laughs and even bigger applause, catapulting her in second place, delivering sharp, relatable humor— proving that courtroom instincts translate surprisingly well to the stage.
The night’ s biggest moment – and the main, firstplace Award- belonged to Disorder in the Court, an established three-student rock / folk band whose crowdpleasing set had the audience singing along, cheering, and even calling for an encore. The judges’ advice,“ Don’ t let the law get in the way of your careers,” said it all( and applies to all performers of the night).
With great food, great friends, and even greater laughs, the Revue was a reminder that behind every polished brief is a personality- holding a guitar, a flute, or a notebook full of killer punchlines. The Atlanta Bar Foundation hosted more than a talent show; it hosted a night of community. And, as a member of the audience put it,“ we need more joy and talent, especially now.”
