LJ Thomas joined Takeover in December 2015 as
Senior Editor. She has worked in the publishing
industry for the last 20+ years. Her editing
experience everything from proofreading to
complete editing of articles, newsletters,
magazines and novels. LJ is also an author,
graphic designer, and more. She began editing
and publishing back in the early 80’s and has
been published in regional magazines,
newsletters and on websites. She has edited
books for bestselling authors such as Omar
Tyree, Aija M. Butler, Gemini Phoenix, Kenya
Moss. Currently she is co-authoring a book for a
major entity in the music industry, Mack Drama.
She has several books in publication and has
been writing and editing 35+ years. She spends
her time helping businesses and non-profits. All

www.asoral.org. As an entrepreneur she has an
annual book event for authors, business owners
and poets. She is the co-owner of Jamalajaz
(www.jamalajaz.com), Vice President of AMB
Training Core, CEO of Pensive publishing, team
member of U2M (Underground to Mainstream)
and most recently partner in an up and coming
magazine. Still she manages to find time to
devote to her congregation and her volunteer
work there. LJ holds several academic degrees in
business and management.

Currently the Atlanta, Georgia Metro
is home for the mogul. LJ lives with
multiple sclerosis (MS), but she doesn’t
let it stop or slow her down. She has a
non-fiction book written in layman’s
terms for newly diagnosed patients
living with the chronic disease, family
members and caregivers (Bad Nerves:
All about MS and stuff). LJ is a
survivor and is published in two books
on relevant topics involving abuse. The
Journey is a survivor series started by
her business partner and she is
featured in both volumes (The Journey
‘Women’s Edition’ and The Journey:
Domestic Violence). She speaks out
against domestic violence and abuse in
general. LJ believes everything good
will take hard work and is worth
having, especially if it benefits others.
In her spare time, she enjoys crafts,
singing and cooking. Most of all LJ
enjoys spending time with her family.
She is honing her skills and enjoys
writing for film.
