Merry Christmas From Take This City
December 2013
Sozo Summit (continued)
… 43 bathroom breaks later we
connected with numerous
ministries from around the
country, gained new ground in
financial and educational sozo as
well as new perspectives on sozo
prayer as a whole. There will be
numerous advances from our
ministry because of our time
there. Many thanks to all of you
who helped us get there and also
the 2,200 miles back home.

Year End Giving
Death, Taxes, and Eternal Life!
You know that moment when you do your taxes and calculate
how much you gave over the year? If you’re like me, you look at
that number and think “surely it was more than that.” The end of
the year is a great time to think about making a charitable gift to
a cause you care about. While it can sometimes be hard to be as
generous as you'd like, knowing the potential tax savings may
make things easier. Here are some smart ways to give while saving
tax dollars as the year draws to a close. Monetary donations
(whether by check or credit card) directly to charities are the
simplest and most common form of charitable giving, and cash
gifts to church affiliated ministries like Take This City are always
tax-deductible. The amount of tax savings depends on your tax
bracket. *For example, if you're in the 35% marginal tax bracket, a
$100 gift may reduce your taxes by $35 ($100 × 35%). If you think
like me, that means instead of investing in a bigger government, I
can reduce my taxes while investing in a bigger kingdom impact.
There are many great reasons to be a giver, but none so much as
this; Jesus gave his life as a gift to us. It is our pleasure and joy to
give of ourselves and the fruit of our labor so that others might
also encounter him, the greatest Gift of all. We can’t do this with
out your help! Thank you for your continued support."
