Check the wiring and be sure to fix any problems , as this is the most common failure in drift boat maintenance and can be a safety hazard when driving to the river .
3 . Check the Trailer Lights : Since the trailer often sits outside all year and is dipped into rivers , the lights are subject to abuse . Make sure that the brake and running lights work . Drift boats can be hard to see by approaching cars as their design often covers your vehicles taillights . Most anglers head to the river in the dark and sometimes to forget if they ’ re working so be sure to check them regularly . Side or marker lights also make it much easier to see when backing down a ramp in the dark as well .
