Melissa Robinson Raven Boutique Hair Accessories I am the daughter of a seamstress and grew up in a family where creativity was encouraged. Since childhood I created accessories and started out envisioning and assembling purses from my Mom’s scrap material which led to designing one-of-a-kind costumes and prom and party ensembles in pursuit of the “perfect outfit.” I continued to create accessories through the years and even created my own feather headpiece for my own wedding and bouquet. “I’m what they call an old soul. I have a passion for vintage, feathers and all things sparkly and glamourous.” What made you start your small business? I’ve always created my own hair accessories for costumes, theme parties, for everyday fun and even my own wedding! After several req uests to make everyday pieces for family and friends, as well as for special events, I opened Raven Boutique to offer exclusive handcrafted pieces to anyone! What are your favorite design/product trends? I believe that the desire to play dress-up never truly ends —every day is a new opportunity to add a touch of glamour to your day with pretty things that sparkle. I’m committed to handcrafting distinctive fascinators and accessories, with a commitment to offering fashionable, flirty and fun pieces for all ages. My designs incorporate only the highest quality laces and silks and cruelty free, environmentally friendly feathers and rhinestones. Pieces are crafted to complement contemporary fashion trends yet recall the allure and drama of the past. What’s been your most popular item or line to date? The most popular line to date are the handmade Venice lace crowns and rhinestone crown headbands. RavenBoutique.com TAGazine | 9
