Wild at Sea
400mm x 500mm
Jayne’s work shows her love of painting which is
applied with instinctive marks on the surface. Here I
have chosen a mix of her work - one of which for me,
is a stand out piece and possibly indicates a clear
path for her to follow.
The painting I am referring to is the ‘figure’ (lazy
Laila) painted in muted tones, shown lying down,
perhaps asleep, maybe dreaming of something
wonderful? The expression seems to indicate that.
The work has an almost a post-modern-Japanese
feel about it and the oblique composition certainly
helps this feeling of eastern influence in composition.
I think this is the stands out piece in the examples
that have I viewed. There are of course many of the
artists work shown here are very good paintings, the
house by the lake and the two nature paintings are
accomplished works.
I look forward to watching her work rapidly progress
as I think Jayne’s art undoubtably will.
