When Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm,
the Texas mixed-used resort style development,
first launched its branded magazine last summer,
it was to celebrate the imminent grand opening
of Anthropologie. For marketing director Kriste
Klepper and the rest of her team, it was the
culmination of an award-winning “From Facebook
to Storefront” viral campaign that had made use
of social media and some 6,000 contacts to
help the leasing department secure the deal.
The namesake magazine, however, took on a
life of its own.
“We had such success with the magazine
that we decided to do another one at the holiday
time,” Klepper said.
The magazine set the tone for the festive season
with a posh-like easiness and laid out everything
that the center had planned for its customers—the
gift choices, food, entertainment and opportunities
for families and friends to simply be together.
The camera feel from the shoot that Sara &
Rocky Photography ran, the angles, the props
and candid-like photos formed the type of image
collection that you’d find in a family album—one
with means, mind you, but family nonetheless.
There was a touch of Americana noticeable
throughout the magazine as well, like this featured
quote from Booker T. Washington, an educator,
author and advisor to Republican presidents
and a high-profile figure in the African-American
community: “Those who are happiest are those
who do the most for others.” Surely an invitation
to indulge loved ones with gifts and outings,
and give back to the community. In a nutshell: a
Merry Christmas.
