Volunteer turned Officer
We are delighted to welcome Lucy Budworth (pictured) as our new
Volunteer Development Officer. A former volunteer herself, she is keen
to highlight the increasingly important role they play in our sport.
‘Having played table tennis from the age of 14 and volunteered from
15, I’m delighted to be given the opportunity to work for Table Tennis
England,’ she enthused.

‘I am passionate about helping improve the volunteer journey, and
empowering and encouraging volunteers through awards such as The
Pride of Table Tennis Awards.’
Lucy recently graduated from university where she studied sport,
culture and society, while also volunteering for football’s equality and
inclusion organisation, Kick It Out.
Fancy footwork
Our coaches were made to
work up a sweat by TTE North
Development Officer Sally Shutt
in September, with the CPD
day in Lancashire focusing on
footwork and movement drills.
The innovative course, which
continues to run nationwide, also
looks at progressing players from
beginner to competition level.
As our video shows, the day
involves some useful and creative
ideas to take away and use
within your sessions. For more
information about CPD courses
in your area please click here.
