Be prepared for the unexpected! As a table-tennis coach you introduce new generations to a great sport, develop established players to achieve higher standards and value the opportunity to earn an income from work you really enjoy. Qualified coaches are the lifeblood for the future of all sports and at PG Mutual we provide a safety net to secure a future for them and their family when most needed. PG Mutual have been providing security for the future of the selfemployed and employed since 1928 through our Income Protection Plus plan. As a coach, if you found yourself unable to work due to illness or accident, could you afford to maintain your family’s financial commitments whilst you recover? Not a question we want to ask ourselves or a subject we probably really discuss with family, however it’s best to ask or discuss before a potential financial disaster. PG Mutual returns Those of you in the Scouts when you were younger will remember the motto ‘Be Prepared’. Unfortunately, the welfare system doesn’t entirely bridge the gap. For example, an employee unable to work due to illness or injury is entitled to SSP from their employer after three days of absence from work and can claim SSP of £88.45* per week (£353.80 per month) for a maximum of 28 weeks. ‘ its profit to its members meaning the plan builds up an investment element for your future, whether you claim on the plan or not! For those who are self-employed, the situation is even worse. They don’t qualify for SSP at all but instead can apply for ESA (provided their N.I contributions are up-to-date) at a level of £73.10* per week (£292.40 per month). ’ This is the harsh reality of what is offered if you have to rely on the state which can often be a huge shock at a time when you want to focus on recovery. PG Mutual aim to protect individuals and families with an affordable plan for those times when it is needed most - a financial safety net for anyone who works hard to create a lifestyle. Income Protection Plus helps with the payment of a regular income from the first day of ill health or injury until the age of 65 (or until return to work) and as an added bonus PG Mutual returns its profit to its members meaning the plan builds up an investment element for your future, whether you claim on the plan or not!
