Class A state champions
TA Dance Legacy
Former teacher Kathleen Nolan, center, started the popular TA dance program in 1995, and served as its director until her retirement in 2011. She keeps busy teaching tap dancing classes through the Kennebunk Recreational Program. Her winter class included TA alum Amy( Levasseur) DesRoberts’ 97( left) and Angie Presby’ 01.

Amy Bradford’ 23
Amy, an artist and entrepreneur, is creating an alphabetic postcard series of Saco, from A to Z. Favorites include L for Dyer Library, R for Rapid Ray’ s, B for Ferry Beach, and T for Thornton Academy. The cards are available at Saco Scoop on Main Street. Amy is a sophomore at the University of Maine, studying Anthropology with minors in Medieval Studies and History.

A family of entrepreneurs
Ashley St. Amand’ 13 poses with her uncle, Tom St. Amand’ 79, at Family Acupuncture Center in Kennebunk( left photo). Tom opened the practice in 2000 and Ashley joined him in 2021. Ashley’ s husband Ethan Roubo’ 13, and her father, Ted St. Amand’ 81, opened Ledgewood Pass Disc Golf Course in Arundel last fall. Ted, an Associated Certified Entomologist, also owns and operates Superior Pest Service in Arundel.

Class A state champions

The Thornton boys hockey team won its fourth Class A state championship in March, beating Kents Hill in the championship game 3-2 in front of an enthusiastic crowd at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland.
Goalie Drew Johnson( 27 saves) led the thirdseeded Trojans, with goals by seniors Cam Cyr and Brady Pecora, and junior Trent Lesieur. Drew, a senior, also received the Travis Roy Award, presented to the best boys high school hockey player in the state.
