Chloe Eisenhaur , DMD , ‘ 13

CONTINUES TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Those who know Chloe Eisenhaur say she ’ s always been on a mission to help people .

Chloe , the oldest of three Eisenhaur alumni ( her brothers are Liam ‘ 15 and Nolan ‘ 18 ), kept busy during her 4 years at Thornton . In addition to lacrosse , soccer , and swimming , she participated in the Interact Club , as well as Choir and Treble Choir , and also appeared in the TA Players production of Cats ( more on that in a minute ).
In her Sophomore year , she and classmate Samantha Schildroth , her best friend since fifth grade , founded the Pink Ribbon Club ( now the Ribbon Club ). In the 2013 yearbook , Chloe said the goal of the club was to support teachers , staff , and people in the community fighting breast cancer . The club coordinated pink basketball and football games , candy grams , a Halloween dance , pink ribbon raves , and sales of “ team pink ” t-shirts .
“ My goal at TA was to leave something - a legacy of some sort - before I graduated ,” she recalls .
Chloe is still giving back . After graduating from the University of New England ’ s College of Dental Medicine in 2021 , she began a two-year residency in the Carilion Clinic at Roanoke ,
Virginia . The hospital-based , non-profit clinic treats a wide range of population groups , including medically complex patients and patients with physical , developmental , and intellectual disabilities . She currently serves as Chief Resident and delivers care in a variety of settings , including hospitalbased outpatients , bedside inpatients , a pediatric dental clinic , the operating room , and at the cleft lip and palate clinic .
“ Since I was little , I wanted to be a dentist ,” says Chloe . She took Introduction to Medical Sciences through TA ' s partnership with the Biddeford Regional Center of Technology , and completed an independent study in dentistry . “ That really set me up for success .”
Ironically , before majoring in Medical Biology in college , Chloe found the subject difficult and credits her former Bio teacher Christy Lajoie for her success . “ I struggled , but Miss Lajoie spent time outside of class mentoring me ,” says Chloe . She also expressed gratitude for former Math teacher Marsha Snyder who tutored her in Calculus , and Chemistry teacher Teri Arenstam . “ I still have a report card where Mrs . Arenstam wrote , ‘ You did it !’”
