Remembering ELLEN( SCAMMON) DUPUIS. CLASS OF 1975

Ellen L. Dupuis, 68, of Saco, passed away on March 23, 2025 following a courageous fight against an aggressive form of cancer.
Ellen was born in Biddeford on December 18, 1956, the youngest of three children born to Harley’ 46 and Virginia( Mercier’ 47) Scammon. Educated in Saco Schools, Ellen was a member of the Class of 1975. She participated in many activities at TA, and her favorite was Ski Club.
Ellen married her high school sweetheart, Jon Dupuis’ 75, on September 9, 1978.
Ellen began her working career with Morse, Payson & Noyes Insurance Company, which became part of TD Bank, and later was acquired by USI Insurance, where she served as Senior Vice President of Personal Lines and was a respected leader. She retired in July 2024 after a career in insurance that spanned 47 years.
Ellen’ s family remembers her as always up for an activity or adventure, and never one to sit still for long. She was always ready with art supplies for her grandchildren, crafting with her friends, playing cribbage with Harley, and for years maintained the tradition of Saturday afternoon tea time with her mom, sister, and children. She enjoyed entertaining, and loved having a house full of family for holidays. Ellen and Jon enjoyed spending summer days at the " lake house " surrounded by family, and travelling to Aruba each winter.
Ellen was predeceased by her mother. In addition to her father and husband, Ellen is survived by son, Jason’ 03, his wife, Michelle( Scontras’ 02), and their children Kellen and Lily; daughter Anna( Dupuis’ 04) Marcotte, husband Nathan, and their children Evelyn and Harper; sister Linda( Scammon’ 69) Trudeau and her husband, Phillip’ 69; brother Robert’ 71; aunt Ann( Scammon’ 52) Grant; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
