But the decision to join the Gary Player Class of 2018/19 development program seems to be unlocking the latent potential in him. 8 His game is extraordinary as Toto is blessed with sheer strength. Toto tamed several par fours and par fives at Karen to register a couple of Eagles. His winning score of -26 ranks among the all-time lowest scores on the tricky Karen course. “Look, I hit the driver everywhere here. And I was hitting it good. I’m an aggressive player and I think this course suits me. I told my Caddy that I’m not holding back and if I want to win here, I must hit driver everywhere,” said Toto. But for all his exploits, Toto was indebted to the partisan crowd. “The crowd was fantastic. Every time I play in Africa I am always treated well by the home fans. It makes me feel so much at home,” he reflects. And for the affection, he earned several monikers the most stand out being “Mtoto wa Simba”. So where does Mtoto wa Simba go from here?
