SYSCO ´ s Oracle ACE
Arturo Viveros belongs to a small and exclusive group of IT specialists who have achieved the honorary designation ” Oracle ACE ”. He is currently the only of Sysco ´ s employees who have this title , and was also invited to give presentations at Oracle Open World ( OOW ). -This is a great recognition both of his competence , and SYSCO as a partner , says Oracle ’ s Sales Director Nordics , Ole Petter Berg .
Viveros , who actually comes from Mexico , joined SYSCO in February 2016 . He now works as a senior consultant on Oracle technology in the Oslo office ( SYSCO Middleware ). The lecture under OOW was focusing on architecture and solutions utilizing Oracle technology to build cloud solutions , says Viveros , who attended the Oracle Open World for the fourth time .

API ( Application Programming Interface ), is a solution that allows you to build new applications that retrieve data from existing databases or software . This is a subject which Viveros knows very well , and he is also co-author of the academic book “ Oracle API Management ”. When he attended Open World in 2014 , he became acquainted with Luis Weir - an API expert from Venezuela . The two found each other at an event for Oracle specialists , and kept in touch even after the OOW . When Weir later decided to write a book about API , he therefore contacted Viveros . -In The spring of 2015 , Weir asked me if I would like to join him to write a book explaining how best to handle the API in cloud solutions , he explains . Viveros accepted the project with Andrew Bell and Rolando Carrasco . The result was a solid book

of over 300 pages , which was titled “ Oracle API Management 12c Implementation ”. The book was launched in 2015 and has so far received very good response from the Oracle specialist environment .
Sharing of knowledge and information through blogging , presentations at conferences or by writing books on special topics , are key elements of Oracle ’ s program to develop expertise in their various fields . Based on the requirements that underlie the various certifications , this helps the knowledge communities both to develop and to raise the competence of colleagues in the industry .
Besides his own speeches at this year OOW , Viveros also joined a number of other lectures and events . He thinks this year ’ s conference provided a lot of useful information about the API platforms and micro services . -We see an increasing demand for these kind of services , says Viveros , adding that he also sees great potential for these solutions in the future .
