to capture market share in this area. He was really ready to go into the throat of Amazon, laughs Vestrheim, who finds it exciting to follow Ellison’ s considerations. It’ s quite clear that this affect Oracle’ s own organization and us as partners, he concludes.
Besides the involved SYSCO employees, also all company Oracle customers were invited to attend the conference. One of those who have taken the tour on several occasions, is the ICT Advisor Kjell Bårdsen from Gassco at Karmøy.-To me, Oracle OpenWorld( OOW) is an important arena for keeping updated on what’ s happening in the industry, says Bårdsen. He thinks it is nice to combine academic updates to meet other colleagues from the environment and have joined OOW both as an independent participant and together with SYSCO.
Most of this year ´ s SYSCO delegation, were living in a designated house near Fisherman’ s Warf, and the participants were given both the opportunity to participate at their own events for the Norwegian environment and Oracle’ s other programs for excursions and activities. As part of a popular tradition, the company also this year reserved a separate SYSCO-partner pub where we gathered a lot of people, says Runar Vestrheim. He also highlights Oracle’ s trips to the wine regions of Napa Valley as wonderful experiences.
SYSCO will also attend the OOW in 2017, so if you want to join there, please contact your SYSCO representative to register your interest.
