| FROM ADMISSIONS
F all is just around the corner and a new season presents new opportunities . The start of the academic year is upon us and marks a new beginning in many ways — new classes , new teachers , perhaps some new activities or picking up where you left off with some of your favorites . High school seniors are also embarking on a new chapter as they enter the college application process , which opened at Stevenson on August 1 . The admission cycle has officially begun for our incoming class of Fall 2022 and we couldn ’ t be happier to witness the excitement among our most eager future Mustangs who have already applied !
Stevenson operates on rolling admission , so we encourage you to submit your application this fall or early winter and you will receive a decision about 3-4 weeks later . This model , and your diligence in applying sooner rather than later , enables you and your family to maximize the amount of decision time you have before the busyness of the spring of senior year and a decision deadline ( May 1 ) are near . We will begin seeing our largest volume of applications in the near future , typically October through January . Get yours in during , or ahead , of this period and know that we are most certainly here as a resource to help you through the process .

With our applicants ’ best interests in mind , we have made some changes to our application process related to the challenges of the pandemic . Letters of recommendation , while still valuable , have become optional . SAT and ACT scores are no longer required , and under our “ test-blind ” policy , will not be considered even if a student does submit them . It is our goal to demystify and simply this process for students and their families , and we hope these changes will alleviate much of the stress we know students feel when applying to college . While we all have seen changes in our lives over the past year and a half , one thing that has not changed in the college search process is the importance of a campus visit . There is absolutely no better way to get a feel for a campus , alleviate your fears , get excited for college and simply envision yourself as a part of our Stevenson community than to join us here on campus for a visit . Whether it is an individual campus tour on a golf cart or part of a larger event , like an open house , rest assured that your health and safety are important to us and we are upholding proper protocols to continue to provide a great visit experience . Pre-registration is required at stevenson . edu / visit and we would love to host you and your family soon .
And there is so much to see when you come ( or come back ) for a visit ! From our residence halls ranked # 8 by University Magazine 2021 to the future site of our 42,000-square-foot Philip A . Zaffere Library ( construction beginning this fall ), there are exciting changes happening , including our eastward campus expansion with new athletic facilities at Owings Mills East .
Our Admissions staff remains fully committed to helping you and your family from start to finish through the visit , application and enrollment process . Your admissions counselor is eager to get to know you and we hope you take us up on some of our many opportunities to get to know us at Stevenson as well . Drop us a line via email or set up a phone call or meeting to get started . Best wishes in the new academic year and we look forward to connecting with you !
