Your status can stay intact for a full school year no matter where you live or your financial situation . If you move to the USA after school starts you may want to bring your documents . Many families who qualify for free or reduced meals in Europe don ’ t qualify in the US because housing allowances are considered income there . PLAN AHEAD and bring documents proving your status to the US to continue eligibility for the remainder of the school year .
