It is a condition of membership to hold valid Professional
Indemnity Insurance with a minimum level of cover of
£2 million. On an annual basis you must provide the
Society with proof of your insurance which will be saved
to your record. The Society have a scheme available
only to members with very comprehensive cover which
will cover you to a minimum of £2.5 million.

All members must adhere to The Society of Will Writers
Code of Practice to ensure that they are code complaint.
The Code of Practice is the Society’s rulebook and outlines
what is expected of our members. When applying, a copy
must be read and signed and this will allow the ‘Safe to
do business with’ logo to be displayed on stationery and
websites.
Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
is a means of the individual measuring their own
professional development and for others to visibly
see and gauge their progress. It is mandatory for
all members to achieve and evidence at least the
minimum 16 structured hours as well as a further 8
unstructured hours CPD hours each year.
