Meeting Dr Jane Goodall DBE
SBN’s International Patron visits Australia
on her 80th Birthday World Tour
To be able to meet SBN’s International Patron in person was a
prodigious honour. Dame Jane
Goodall is considered to be the
world’s foremost expert on chimpanzees and has worked extensively on conservation and animal
welfare issues all her life, so to
have the opportunity to speak in
person with such an inspirational and forward thinking mentor
was unbelievable. Though the
one thing that amazes me most,
is how down-to-earth she is; and
she has the patience, willingness
and interest to talk with young
people about our thoughts, hopes,
dreams and to share her wisdom
on how to save the planet that we
young people are going to inherit.
It is a day I will always remember
and cherish for the rest of my life.

When I met Dr Jane Goodall,
although being a world famous
guru in conservation and an expert
on animals, she seemed so normal
and interested in chatting with us
kids about what we think. I wish
we could have sat around and
talked for hours. She has so many
interesting stories and important
things that we want to know
about. She was really inspirational.
She didn’t seem like other older
people; she was bright and energetic! Harry, 14 years
It was really amazing to meet Dr
Jane Goodall because she was
really nice and kind ... I learnt we
need to keep taking care of the

Dr Jane’s said that if you relate
your message as a story people
are more inclined to listen with
their hearts - this really struck
a chord for me. It was such an
amazing experience to meet her.

It was such an honour to speak
with one of the world’s greatest voices about such a globally important topic. Dr Jane’s
words not only resonate, they
inspire you to take action... now!
