Roger Eno is a composer and sound artist who cannot be easily categorised. His work has been experienced at Snap: Art at Aldeburgh Festival and Ambicon in California already this year. Roger’ s powerful and versatile body of work easily lends itself to, and is frequently used in, TV, theatre and film.
“ Film scoring is an art form that has developed since the era of the silent cinema in a role of subservience and accompaniment. Its main attributes are its invisibility, and the slightest tiny musical element can alter a film’ s journey and your experience of it.”
The Gold Rush was among Chaplin’ s personal favourites, a comic fable set in the Alaskan Gold-fields. It is the film he wished to be best remembered for. 88 years on,‘ The Gold Rush’ is stil influencing film-makers today. The seamless blend of action, comedy and sentiment lends itself particularly well to Roger’ s skills as a translator of visuals to music.
