The world thought he was a bust because of his poor stats and impression to the prestigious league. The contrast between the NBA and CBA has a large difference. The americans were stronger, more aggressive and more dominant. Worldwide before Yao Ming came to the league and was recognized by the world, everyone thought asians couldn’t play basketball and that they were ‘unfit’ to play or couldn’t play. However Yao Ming changed that. Asians became more skillful and faster, the increase of popularity in asia, increased the chance in improvement because of competition between peers and other players.
