I had the pleasure of meeting one of my heroes, Trey Combs, at a fly fishing show a few years back. We have kept in touch ever since, trading stories of time on the water, sharing new fly patterns, discussing fly theories. Trey graciously agreed to sit down with me near his home in Port Townsend, Washington to get caught up and share some of his favorite stories with Swing the Fly. After all, a lot has happened since the release of our bible, Steelhead Fly Fishing in 1991.
