Palmer a nice collar with a Silver Pheasant feather, by tying the feather in by the tip so that the curve of the feather is facing down over top of the fly. This should look like an upside down boat. Slowly wind the guinea toward the eye while pulling back on the feather fibers so they don’t become tangled in each wrap. I typically wrap around the shank 4 times and tie off, but you can go thicker by adding a couple extra wraps. If you would like a thinner profile you can also strip one side of the feather and the tie it in following the same steps.
