28. Figure 28 shows the head after the first application of head cement. There will be 4 coats total for this fly. With hours in between coats.

27. Whip finish with wraps directly on top of one another. 5 or 6 wraps. Cut the thread close. Rather than building up the head with a slippery slope of thread, we are going to use head cement to provide a small, sturdy head. Begin by adding a drop to the exposed butts at the front of the head. This will soak in quickly. Leave it to dry.

26. The horns are tied in as shown in figure 26. With a couple wraps, these can gently be manipulated in to position.
