Members of the Massachusetts Nursery & Landscape Association( MNLA), a statewide association dedicated to advancing the interests of“ green industry” professionals, spent their annual“ Plant Geek Day”( top) on August 24th touring the Cemetery and meeting with Mount Auburn staff. On September 16th several community participants( center) helped Cemetery staff document plant and animal species seen and heard within a 15-acre site within the heart of the Cemetery. On September 21st over 75 people from the Eastern Region Annual Conference of International Plant Propagators Society( IPPS) toured the Cemetery( bottom).
Mount Auburn’ s Story Chapel was the site for some fantastic theatrical programming last fall. Dr. Nancy Rappaport( top) reflected on her journey with breast cancer during performances of Regeneration, her one-woman play on October 1st and 2nd. A Glimpse Beyond( center) returned for a fifth year of inspired music, dance, art, and poetry during the weekend of October 22nd and 23rd. And Artist-in-Residence Roberto Mighty( bottom) presented his final transmedia exhibition of earth. sky on November 10th.
