sweet auburn | 2020 volume ii focusing on a selection of historic trees at Mount Auburn Cemetery . The horticultural staff helped me select suitable trees , and with special permission I was able to visit the Cemetery during the pandemic to monitor bud , leaf , and flower development . My final watercolors will show a leafing branch along with detail studies of tree silhouette , flower , fruit , and plant parts . I hope the first series of paintings will be complete by spring 2022 .
