GRIEF PROGRAMMING AT MOUNT AUBURN

By Julie-Anne Whitney, Public Events Manager
ere at Mount Auburn, grief and healing-focused

H programming is very important to us. We prioritize programs that offer relief, comfort, and solace to our clients and visitors through experiential tours of the landscape, interactive workshops, and educational panels, as well as arts-based activities and performances.

We also know that spending time in nature can be healing both physically and psychologically. We offer recurring programs intended to get you up close and personal with nature— whether that be through our popular birding tours, annual community bulb-planting, or educational programs about trees, plants, and wildlife.
Our annual Summer SOLSTICE is a great example of this kind of programming. This year’ s event will take place on
Saturday, June 21, from 10:00am-5:00pm and will include several free and ticketed programs that focus on healing, mindfulness, and finding joy on the longest day of the year. Programs will include Music in a Found Space, Awe Walk, The Healing Power of Trees Walk, Yoga for Healing, Sound Meditation, Community Healing Ritual with Herbs, Make Your Own Flower Crown Workshop, and more.
Mount Auburn has always been a landscape for both the living and the dead— a place to find acceptance in the face of sorrow. Whether you’ re grieving the loss of a loved one, a relationship, or the changing climate, we hope you’ ll join us for one or more of these upcoming events.
