After five long years , the Coolidge Corner Theatre returned to Mount Auburn Cemetery on September 24 , 2024 , the anniversary of our Consecration , to bring an artful and fun double-feature of The Seventh Seal and Bill & Ted ’ s Bogus Journey to almost 400 attendees on the lawn behind Story Chapel . Thank you to the Coolidge for their thoughtful collaboration and for all those in attendance !
President & CEO Emeritus Dave Barnett Honored by Massachusetts Horticultural Society
Congratulations to President & CEO Emeritus Dave Barnett , who was awarded a Gold Medal for eminent horticultural accomplishments at MHS ’ s 121st Honorary Medals Ceremony on October 30 , 2024 . Dave started his career at Mount Auburn in 1993 as the Cemetery ’ s first Director of Horticulture before serving as President & CEO from 2008 until his retirement in 2021 . Dave ’ s horticultural legacy lives on at Mount Auburn through numerous habitat restorations — including , but not limited to , the woodland restoration of Consecration Dell and the renovations of Asa Gray Garden and Indian Ridge Path — and the adoption of our Wildlife Action and Climate Action and Sustainability Plans .
