Mount Auburn ’ s Historical Collections & Archives houses Arthur Haskell ’ s original negatives and black-and-white prints . Haskell used an 8 x 10-inch view camera and favored the clarity of the morning light when photographing the Cemetery grounds , monuments , and buildings . His exquisite prints , made in a darkroom he constructed himself , exhibit a range of tones and textures . The collection of approximately 500 images reveals the technical and aesthetic heights Haskell achieved in his 25-year chronicle of Mount Auburn .
