SIEBEC has launched the ACIDPURE

Sulfuric acid regeneration system for both Anodising and Acid Pickling processes , automatically delivering a steady state solution

Using the ACIDPURE enables sulfuric acid based Anodising and Acid Pickling processes to be maintained at the process specified g / l level of aluminium oxide ( alumina -Al2O3 ) or ferrous sulphate ( Fe ( II )) without the need for manual intervention .

SIEBEC is pleased to present an Anodising case study . Our customer was able to recover 70 % of the Sulfuric acid , previously dumped . The Anodising process had a volume of 2000 l made up at 240 g / l H2SO4 . The challenge was to keep the alumina concentration at 10g / l . The existing control process was dilution every 10 days at 20 % of the tank volume . The main issues with the existing control method were the high costs related to replacement of the dumped sulfuric acid and the effluent treatment of the waste being a highly concentrated acid .
ACIDPURE was installed to automatically remove the alumina from the Anodising process at a predetermined rate while recycling the sulfuric acid and generating an effluent with a low acid concentration .
ACIDPURE employs an Ion exchange resin to separate the alumina from the sulfuric acid . The sulfuric acid is returned to the anodising process and the resin is flushed through with deionised water and discharged to effluent treatment .
