Designed to work on a three-shift basis , Firbimatic systems ensure high quality cleaning on all surfaces including complex features such as internal bores . Solvents of choice for use with Firbimatic technology are modified alcohols or highly stabilised perchloroethylene .
The process for cleaning tube components involves an initial high-pressure spray pre-clean of external surfaces with hot solvent followed by full immersion within the process chamber . The further addition of kinetic energy afforded by solvent recirculation whilst maintaining the parts under immersion ensures that contaminants ( including particulate matter ) are not only
dislodged from substrate material but effectively “ flushed ” from the process chamber for capture by mechanical filter systems or directed to the multi-stage distillation unit for onward solvent purification . This ensures that pristinely clean solvent is available for every wash cycle . Furthermore , the entire cleaning process is completed under vacuum so the restrictions imparted by air pressure are totally eliminated .
The cleaning process is completed by draining the process chamber of liquid solvent and utilising the solvent vapour generated by the distillation unit to give a final “ rinse ” of pure solvent . Vacuum drying completes the cycle .
The Firbimatic process is capable of achieving consistently high values of surface cleanliness when measured by one of the many accepted and scientifically proven processes such as Total Organic Compound residues ( TOC analysis ), Gravimetric Evaluation and the very simple Dynes / Cm process which brings day to day surface testing “ out of the laboratory ” and into a ( clean ) factory environment .
