Instead of celebrating her senior year at Hamilton County High School the traditional way, Miles, who doubles as the varsity cheer captain and Class of 2020 Vice President, is finding ways to overcome the current COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic that’s taken a toll on schools across the country. “Even though our senior year got taken from us, like everybody else we’re still gonna keep pushing, we’re going to try to make the best of what we can, do what we can and try to make memories as much as we can even in a short amount of time,” Miles said in a phone interview. “Even if we have to sit on Zoom and talk, we can do it. We just have to get along as best as we can.” Before the pandemic shined a light on the 2020 graduating class, Miles spent her high school tenure earning various accomplishments including receiving industry certification in computer technology; Honor Roll and passing her CNA certification — the latter of which will prepare her for her future education at Santa Fe College where she plans to study sonography and become an ultrasound technician. 2020 | Suwannee Valley Grad Scene 21
