Mayakoba Condominium crushed and composted 882.1 tons of vegetable waste that was later used in Mayakoba green areas . This amount is 100 % of the waste generated in the common areas of Mayakoba .

Vegetable oil

100 % ( 17,675 Lt .) of the burned vegetable oil generated in Mayakoba is separated and sent for use in biodiesel production . With this initiative , vegetable oil is converted to biodiesel , which is a renewable energy source that produces approx . 80 % less CO2 than fossil diesel , thus contributing to minimizing the impacts of global warming .

12.9 tons of electronics , toners and tires generated by the hotels , golf course and common areas were sent for recycling .
