Mayakoba is about to conclude the recertification process with PROFEPA to maintain the Tourism Environmental Quality certificate at NAD2 . Mayakoba is the first and only Tourist Development in the State of Quintana Roo that obtains the distinctive in the NAD2 .

3 audits were carried out by an external company to verify compliance with the conditions , environmental legislation and good practices implemented , as well as to maintain the Tourism Environmental Quality recertification with PROFEPA at Performance Level 2 ( NAD2 ).
Environmental supervision tours were carried out to detect and address areas of opportunity both in operational areas and in conservation and service areas .
Audits were carried out and re-certification was obtained with Preferred by Nature ( formerly Rainforest Alliance ) in the 4 Mayakoba hotels under the sustainable tourism standards recognized by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council ( GSTC ).
