Integrated Fauna Management
Since 2006 , there has been a management plan for the control of fauna of sanitary importance , which consists of a census of cats and dogs present on the property to rescue them and put them up for adoption , and the control of harmful insects ( such as mosquitoes ), biological control , elimination of breeding sites and physical containment .
Mayakoba continues with the process of obtaining the certificate from the Ministry of Health " Company free of mosquito breeding sites ", which guarantees to avoid diseases such as dengue , zika and chikungunya .
Mayakoba has the support of a specialist veterinarian , to ensure specialized and timely attention to wildlife that requires it .
For the twelfth consecutive year we have the authorization of SEMARNAT ' s General Directorate of Wildlife to carry out sea turtle conservation activities .
