For the first year , the " Reef Week " was held , in which the 4 Mayakoba hotels participated in association with OCEANUS A . C ., within the framework of World Environment Day . It is proposed to place 500 coral colonies ( Acrophora palmata ) continuously for 5 years , as well as carry out continuous monitoring .
At the Andaz Hotel , a specific space was implemented to provide guests with information about the environmental planning of the project . In 2021 , 59 guests participated .
The Mayakoba explorer was carried out , which consists of a bicycle tour through the mangrove and beach area , where the importance of coastal ecosystems is explained to the guests and they are told about the conservation programs for sea turtles and reef that are made in the facilities . During the year 82 guests participated .
