The Mayakoba mangrove conservation area is dominated by red mangrove ( Rhizophora mangle ), buttonwood mangrove ( Conocarpus erectus ), and white mangrove ( Laguncularia racemosa ). Also , specimens of black mangrove ( Avicennia germinans ) are observed .
The red mangrove ( Rhizophora mangle ), buttonwood mangrove ( Conocarpus erectus ), white mangrove ( Laguncularia racemosa ) and black mangrove ( Avicennia germinans ), as well as the chit palm ( Thrinax radiata ), are found in NOM-059- SEMARNAT-2010 Therefore , its conservation is a priority .
