My research theme was The accident form Seveso. When doing research on this theme, I read about Seveso.
Seveso was a city in Italy, near Milano. There, in 1976, a reactor from a pesticide plant exploded. The consequences were devastating. After the accident, some laws were written to protect the environment form this type of accidents. These laws are still enforced to prevent such accidents like the one from Seveso. The explosion caused a lot of damage to the environment and to the people who lived there. The explosion was compared to the bomb from Hiroshima. The TCDD (a pesticide ) was released in the atmosphere, that gas being the cause of contamination.
