Elie
Wisel
was
born
in
1928
in
Sighet,
nowadays
part
of
Romania.
During
the
Second
World
War
he
and
his
family
were
deported
to
the
Germans
concentraCon
camps
for
Jews.
His
mother,
youngest
sister,
and
his
father,
died
in
the
concentraCon
camps,
witch
leaded
him
to
be
alone
unCl
Jews
were
free.
Wiesel
and
his
two
older
sisters
survived
the
concentraCon
camps,
he
was
liberated
in
1945.
He
moved
to
Paris
where
he
studied
at
the
Sorbonne
and
became
a
journalist.
He
published
a
book
called
“Night”;
which
talks
about
his
story
at
the
concentraCon
camps.
