We used 20 players across the year and our Captain was Ben Partridge (Epsom) - the players
representing Surrey were Ben, Enrique Dimayuga, Luke Barnes, Luke Stock, Ben Kelly, Harry
Crockett, Tommy Noel, Bailey Osborne, Josh Balson-Scales, Justin Chan, Harry Butler, Shergo
Kurdi, Babar Haq, Sam Brummer, Demi Di Matteo, Rhys Williams, Austin Gambel, Jack
Kurzburg, Harley Yates and John Richardson.
U18 League
We are in the South Section of the U18 League with Hampshire, Sussex and Kent. We played
three matches (two away and one home) in the group stage and the winner goes through to
a Final against the winners of the two other groups (Central and North). We won our group
so progressed to the end of year Final which we then won at Gerrards Cross Golf Club beating
Norfolk and Hertfordshire with the last putt on the 18th green of the last singles match.
National Boys Qualifier
SE Group organise the SE Region qualifier and all 11 Counties take part and was hosted by
Essex at Orsett GC. The event was won by Kent, so they progressed to the National Final. Surrey
were 2nd albeit 15 strokes behind. The event is a one day 36 stroke play competition with 6
players in each team. Surrey’s best individual was Enrique Dimayuga who came 2nd with a -2
total (70,72)
SE Group Championship
This was hosted at Burhill Golf Club and we had a number of players take part. It is an individual
event open to all Counties and our best player was Harry Crockett (Addington Palace) who
finished 4th with a score of 76, 72.
SE Group Foursomes
This event was hosted by Hertfordshire at Old Fold Manor Golf Club. Each team consists
8 players and our team were Sam Brummer, Justin Chan, Harry Butler, Tommy Noel, Rhys
Williams, Austin Gambel, Harley Yates and Harry Crockett. Surrey came 3rd on +23
The event is over 36 holes and a stroke play competition with three scores counting in each
round, so the worst score is discarded.
County Championship
This was hosted by Malden Golf Club and attracted the best players from across the County.
This year the Boys Champion is Ben Partridge (Epsom) with a combined score or 141. As winner
Ben qualified for the England Champions of Champions and was the winner at Frilford Heath
Golf Club on -5 (139)
U15 – U16 Team – Manager Brian Woodham
The Surrey U16 and U15 Squads had a mixed bag of fortunes throughout the 2019 season.
The U15’s played 3 matches as follows:
Wiltshire Home: Surrey won 4-2
Triangular Tournament v Sussex and Hampshire
(Hampshire 20 points, Surrey 12 and Sussex 4)
Annual Match v Wales U15: Surrey 6½ beat Wales 5½
The match against Wales was a major highlight for us as, despite playing away at Celtic Manor,
this was our first ever win against the Welsh national team.
